After graduating from Ballard High School, Tom received both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Washington and is licensed to practice in all courts of the State of Washington, U.S. District Court for Western Washington, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.

50 YEARS IN BALLARD
How many people in this day and age hold the same job for 50 years? Tom Treece and Dave Richdale, principals of the Treece Richdale Law Firm, have been practicing law in Ballard for 50 years. Tom Treece is a graduate of Ballard High School and the University Of Washington School Of Law and began his practice in Ballard in 1963. Dave Richdale is a graduate of Lincoln High School and the University Of Washington School Of Law and began his practice in 1963 with a major Seattle law firm.On October 4, 2013 the Washington State Bar Association paid tribute to the lawyers and judges who celebrated a half century membership in the Washington State Bar Association. There were just 44 members statewide who were admitted to the practice of law in 1963—Tom Treece and Dave Richdale were among them.The two attorneys formed their existing law firm in Ballard in 1969 and built the Forum Building at 1718 NW 56th in 1978. That was the year they moved their law offices into same location where they continue to serve the legal needs of the Ballard Community.

Estate Planning
Tom recommends that everyone who owns property, real or personal, have a Last Will and Testament, as well as a Durable Power of Attorney and Directive to Physicians. These documents are imperative for your protection and to fulfill your wishes and assist the family with the final matters of the estate when it becomes necessary.
Probate
Known for his complete understanding of probate law and estate administration, Tom Treece has earned the trust and respect of his clients and fellow attorneys for his expertise in this field and his forthright and honest values. His skill lies in guiding the Personal Representative through the court-based process of distribution of the deceased person’s property in a supportive, caring manner with the aim of protecting the client and the estate. The probate process is generally not complex or expensive, but it is very important to work with someone you can trust to guide you through the process with compassion and proficiency.

Tom offers his comprehensive knowledge and background in the formation and management of Sub-S and C Corporations as well as Limited Liability Companies to meet the needs of small and med-sized businesses.
